Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal HAM maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and self-plagiarism, thus:

• Authors are required to ensure that the manuscript submitted is the original work of the author;
• Use of other people's ideas/thoughts can be done by citing in accordance with applicable regulations;
• Authors are not allowed to submit the same manuscript or have similar ideas to other journals;
• Authors are required to do a plagiarism check independently and upload the results in the supplementary files section in the fourth step of the submission process.

Plagiarism checks are conducted using the following methods:

• By manually searching for titles and keywords in the manuscript and checking the citing procedures;
• By using The Crossref Similarity Check powered by iThenticate to find the level of similarity of the manuscript with other posts.

Jurnal HAM upholds a strict policy against plagiarism and self-plagiarism, allowing a similarity index of 15% or less to accommodate technical overlaps such as properly cited direct quotations, commonly used terms, and bibliographic references. Any similarity exceeding this threshold or indicative of substantive plagiarism will be rejected.

Since September 2022, Jurnal HAM has taken firm action against plagiarism and redundancy by following the COPE policy standards, which are:

• If plagiarism is found in the submission process (before the article is published), Jurnal HAM will take action by referring to https://publicationethics.org/guidance/flowchart/plagiarism-submitted-manuscript;
• If redundancy is found in the submission process (before the article is published), the Jurnal HAM will take action by referring to https://publicationethics.org/guidance/flowchart/redundant-duplicate-publication-submitted-manuscript;
• If post-publication redundancy is found, the Journal of the Research and Development Agency of Law and Human Rights Journal of Law and Human Rights Research and Development Agency will take action by referring to https://publicationethics.org/guidance/flowchart/redundant-duplicate-publication-published-article;
• If post-publication plagiarism is found, Jurnal HAM will take action by referring to https://publicationethics.org/guidance/flowchart/redundant-duplicate-publication-published-article.
