Archiving Policy

Jurnal HAM is committed to ensuring the long-term availability and digital preservation of all published content. All articles are stored and managed through internal servers of the Legal Policy Strategy Agency, Ministry of Law, supported by regular system backups. To ensure continuity of access, Jurnal HAM utilizes the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) as a distributed archiving system. Each article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) via CrossRef and supported by open metadata through OAI-PMH, ensuring persistent discoverability and accessibility even in the event of system disruption or journal discontinuation.

Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy

Jurnal HAM is committed to ensuring the permanent availability, long-term digital preservation, and broad accessibility of all published scholarly content. This policy is designed to protect academic materials from loss, ensure continued access, and align with best practices in scholarly publishing.

1. Publisher-Managed Archiving

All Jurnal HAM articles are stored in PDF format and managed through internal servers of the Legal Policy Strategy Agency, Ministry of Law. The system is supported by regular data backup procedures to mitigate risks arising from technical failures, system disruptions, or disasters.

2. Preservation via Global Network (PKP Preservation Network)

Jurnal HAM utilizes the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) as a distributed digital preservation system. Through this mechanism, article copies are securely stored across multiple nodes. Jurnal HAM is registered in the Keepers Registry with preserved status, confirming its participation in an internationally recognized digital preservation framework.

3. Persistent Identifiers (DOI)

All articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through CrossRef. This ensures persistent identification, reliable citation, and continued accessibility regardless of changes to the journal’s website or infrastructure.

4. Metadata and Interoperability

Jurnal HAM provides open metadata via the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH). This enables indexing, harvesting, and redistribution by academic databases and digital libraries.

5. Self-Archiving Policy

Jurnal HAM publishes and permits distribution of the final published version (Version of Record) only. Authors may share this version in accordance with the journal’s licensing terms, provided that proper citation and DOI links are included.

6. Policy in the Event of Discontinuation

In the event that Jurnal HAM ceases publication, all previously published content will remain accessible through:

  • the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN),
  • DOI system and indexing services,
  • and the publisher’s internal storage infrastructure.

These measures ensure continued access to the journal’s scholarly record.

7. Data Integrity and Accountability

Jurnal HAM is committed to maintaining the integrity of its digital archives. In cases of publication disputes, ethical concerns, or administrative processes, all relevant data will be preserved and protected from unauthorized alteration or deletion.

8. Policy Review

This policy will be periodically reviewed and updated in accordance with technological developments, international standards, and institutional needs.
